Eastern Playoff Picture and the Bucks

Well, the Bulls aren’t making the playoffs.  Everyone and their mothers predicted this, but it still puts a bitter taste in my mouth.  With this in mind, I’ve decided to write about another amazing eastern team dear to my heart.  Our neighbors to north, the cheese eating lunatics, the Milwaukee Bucks! Living in Illinois, it’s easy go to Buck’s games for significantly cheaper than Bull’s games.  The lengthy Greek Giannis also adds to my amazement with the bucks, making them my second favorite team.

Now let’s get into playoff talk.  The Bucks are slated for the 7th seed right now, one game behind the Heat and with on less loss than the Wizards.  Ideally, it would be best for them to hold on to the seventh seed so they could face young and injured Celtics. Not only are their best players young and inexperienced, but Kyrie and Gordon are also out for the rest of the season, making this the easiest possible first round match up.  Brad Stevens, the coach of the Celtics, scares me. He’s proven throughout the season that he can work around injuries and still get his team wins. A moment that sticks out in particular is during the first game of the year, five minutes in Gordon Hayward took a fall; breaking his ankle.  Horror filled the stadium, teammates comforted their fallen friend, while even Lebron was shaken from the injury. The Celtics went on to lose this game, but Brad Stevens was able to rally his gloomy players to a huge comeback. After the crushing loss of Hayward, analysts predicted doom for the Celtics, but after the 54 win season they’ve had so far, the doubters have been silenced.  Brad’s ability against adversity leads me to believe that the Celtics still have a chance to win in the first round, although I still believe that this team is an easy first round matchup in comparison to the other two options.

Lebron James.  The third seed match up for the Bucks is Lebron‘s Cavs or the Sixers.  Never having lost in the first round, the idea of facing the greatest player of our generation scares Bucks fans.  Never the less, watching Lebron duel Giannis in the first round would be very entertaining. Luckily, this matchup will only occur if the Sixers lose a few games.  Currently the third seed is Philly, a young and exciting team. This team hasn’t seen the playoffs in years, making this team as hungry for a win as ravenous animal.  Ben Simmons is like the next Magic Johnson too, so I’m praying that we don’t get this matchup.

Finally on to the first seed matchup, the Raptors.  Having a historic season, the Raptors have been clawing up the league this year.  Notorious for choking, the Raptors are somewhat of a wild card, never having made it to the finals they aren’t looked at as a threat.  The Bucks also have this matchup down, having taken them to a six game series last year. None the less, the Raptors are a scary first round matchup.  In conclusion, the east is stacked this year, making it tough for my Bucks.
